Sugarcane farmers in Sitapur & Shahjehanpur districts in Uttar Pradesh were facing the issue of water shortage for irrigation and electricity access into their houses. Schneider Electric India Foundation joined hands with Dalmia Bharat Foundation to address this issue through technology intervention by setting up solar mini grids in Ramgarh & Bicchauli villages.
The aim was to increase agricultural yield, reduce carbon emission caused by Diesel based water pumps and provide clean, safe electricity to houses of farmers.
• 2 mini grids of 23.8 kWp capacity each benefitting 500 people
• 16 street lights in community area
• 4 Solar water pumps benefitting 100 farmers
